Silver Chance International Film Festival celebrates inspiring, real, and fictional stories about human resilience, recovery, and transformation.
We welcome films that explore mental health, physical challenges, personal loss, and stories of hope through adversity.
Eligibility
Open to filmmakers worldwide, including students and independent creators.
Films must be completed after January 1, 2022.
Submissions can be documentary, narrative, or experimental — short or feature-length.
All entries must include English subtitles if not primarily in English.
Films that promote hate, violence, or discrimination will not be accepted.
AI-generated content is strictly prohibited.
This includes AI-generated visuals, voices, scripts, or music.
Only human-created, original work is eligible for selection.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions are accepted only through FilmFreeway.
Multiple entries are allowed, but each film must be submitted separately.
Selection & Notification
All submissions will be reviewed by the festival programming team.
Selected films will be notified via email and FilmFreeway.
Official selections will be screened on 26th April 2026 in Moxie Cinema, Springfield, MO
The festival reserves the right to change the screening format or venue if necessary.

Winners will receive:
Official Certificate & Digital Laurels
Online Feature / Interview on Form Script to Life YouTube channel

Rights & Permissions
By submitting your film, you confirm that:
You own or control all rights to the film’s content, including music and visuals.
You grant the festival permission to screen your film publicly and to use short clips, stills, and the film’s title for promotional purposes.
You retain full ownership of your work — the festival does not claim any distribution rights.
Screening Format
Accepted formats: digital file (MP4 or MOV, 1080p minimum).
The festival may request additional formats for projection if needed.
Filmmakers are responsible for ensuring their file plays correctly before submission.
General Terms
The festival reserves the right to make final decisions regarding selections and awards.
Entry and participation imply acceptance of all rules and terms.
The festival is a non-profit, volunteer-based event, and no screening fees are paid to filmmakers.

Awards will be determined by the festival jury based on storytelling, craft, emotional impact, and overall excellence.
The number of winners in each category may vary depending on the submissions and programming needs.
Official Selections will be screened during the festival showcase.
Official Selections will be screened in front of a live audience at Moxie Cinema, Springfield, MO 26th April 2026.
Our goal is to honor filmmakers who use storytelling to inspire hope, empathy, and change.
The Silver Chance Film Festival uses a tiered submission structure to keep early submissions affordable and encourage filmmakers to submit as soon as possible. All payments are processed exclusively through FilmFreeway.
Submission Deadlines & Fees:
Early Bird — December 31: $4
Regular — January 31: $5
Late — February 28: $6
Extended — March 31: $7
Filmmakers from regions where international payments are restricted may contact us at silverchancefest@gmail.com. Fee waivers or discount coupons may be provided on a limited basis.
Where Your Fees Go
All submission fees directly support the festival’s operations—venue rental, projection, marketing, jury honorariums, website hosting, awards, and overall improvements to make the festival better each year.
Submission fees are non-refundable, regardless of selection status.
